An Olivetti factory becomes a crucible for new creations

Damanhur Crea is a multipurpose space open to the public, a "living laboratory" where ideas and dreams are translated into art objects, cultural events and eco-sustainable projects. It is an example of Damanhurian sustainability: 4,000 square meters of space occupied by different services, businesses and studios, as well as common meeting areas.
Crea is located in a former Olivetti factory, acquired by Damanhur and reopened in 2004 as Damanhur Crea. The building has a Conference Center named after the renowned industrialist and social reformer Adriano Olivetti, who created the complex in the 1950s to counter the growing depopulation of the valley by giving local residents a chance to work right in their community.
The complex is an inspiring example of recovering an abandoned industrial site and repurposing it for new use. The building's interior was adapted to meet the needs of the individuals and companies that now inhabit it. At the same time, the design respects the characteristics desired by Olivetti-in particular that there be a harmonious relationship between the individual, the work environment and the wider social context.
Damanhur Crea is home to several businesses related to food and nutrition, green building design and construction, a health clinic, several wellness services, art studis and more. Basically, without ever leaving Damanhur Crea, you could do things as diverse as receive a dental implant, get a hair cut, design an eco-house, buy organic produce for dinner and pose for a clay bust to be placed in your garden.
