Rainforest Protection and Potential Sister City in Nicaragua
At Damanhur, we received a visit from our collaborators in safeguarding the rainforests of Nicaragua. In connection with the Environment, History and Nature Association, Luca Biddau, Carlo Zanella, and Cristina Terzolo, have returned to Damanhur for a series of meetings to report the latest about the rainforest protection efforts. An upcoming project involves water management implants that would provide drinking water from local sources in the region instead of brining it in from hundreds of kilometers away. There is also the possibility that the Damanhurian town of Vidracco shall become a sister city with San Carlos, Nicaragua, the municipality connected to the island of Mancarroncito. The Damanhur School is already the sister school with the one in Mancarroncito. Our visitors acknowledged the importance of the contribution offered by Damanhurian students in support of the school in Nicaragua, which has allowed 25 students the opportunity for education. As a component of spirituality, Damanhur takes concrete action to safeguard the environment and promote social projects.
