![]() From January 16 – 20, 2010 Damanhur hosted the first of six meetings for the international Learning Partnership program, comprised of eight groups – including Damanhur, who were invited to create a training course called “Transition to Resilience,” with the support of the United Nations. This course shall provide trainings to transition urban environments from their realities to one that is sustainable and resilient.
Two representatives from each of the eight participating realities were present for the five-day meeting. A few of the encounters were open to the public, one of which discussed the Transition Towns, a model for converting urban environments and creating ecological and autonomous communities with solidarity-based social structures. The second encounter featured a lively presentation on ‘Mythodrama’ by Robin Alfred, who lives in Findhorn, Scotland. Alfred presented Inspirational Leadership within the literary framework of Shakespeare’s ‘Henry V.’ With theatrical storytelling, he explored leadership archetypes and shared strategies for inspiring others from a place of creativity and inner equilibrium.
