Kavitha Rao and Jeff Golden, the founders of The Common Fire Foundation, have come to visit Damanhur for the first time, along with their daughter Samiha, on November 11 – 19. They stayed in one of the nucleo communities of Damanhur and visited many others. The guests also visited the Damanhur School, guided by Anaconda, and found the Temples of Humankind to be incredible and breathtaking.

Common Fire’s mission is to help create communities that live healthily, joyfully, and in solidarity with other people and the planet. They created their first community in 2006, a housing co-op in New York’s Hudson Valley, the highest scoring green building in the Eastern US, as documented by the US Green Building Council. A Common Fire Community has formed in the San Francisco Bay Area as well. Common Fire aims to establish several village-scale communities with affordable green housing, retreat centers and gardens. The values of Common Fire include: ongoing personal growth and dialog, diversity, aligning one's actions with one's values, and bridging transformation in the community with transformation in the world.

Kavitha and Jeff found Damanhur to be very inspiring, expressing that Damanhur is more in line with their dream than any other community that they have seen so far. They leave Damanhur with renewed hope that they can realize the visions and dreams of their community.
