THE PATHWAY TOWARDS THE AWAKENING
OF THE HUMAN BEING

The aim of the course of Meditation is to teach those who follow it to interact with the physical and non-physical world by working on their inner self.

There is an ancient tale that tells: Once humankind possessed a great wealth which man did not appreciate, God thought about hiding this wealth so that humankind would have a difficult time finding it and recovering it would be considered as all important. But where could he hide it? Not on the top of the mountains, nor in the depths of the sea, humankind would be sure to find it. So, where then? At last he decided to hide it inside Humankind because that was the one place man hardly ever looked.

The human being seldom ever looks inside of himself, because to open up his own soul leads to the pathway of knowledge.                                            

The School of Meditation is a very concrete spiritual path that has brought many different things into being, including Damanhur itself. It is a path in which the growth of everyone is achieved by the integration of every individual into the group.

It is a real, true journey towards the awakening of the human being, which teaches us to live on this planet that hosts us, as active protagonists, with joy, in harmony and with respect for ourselves, others, and the forces that animate nature and the cosmos.

One of the fundamental principles of the Meditation path is 'change', the possibility of constant renewal, just as life itself is a continuous process of transformation.

Sensitivity, creativity, the study of traditions and ancient knowledge are encouraged as useful instruments in the expression and celebration of each individual's potential.

The Meditation course normally meets on a weekly basis and Meditation groups can be formed in places outside of Damanhur both in Italy and abroad. Monthly courses are not excluded.

This course is unique in that it has a beginning but no end. This is because all evolutionary paths proceed through each existence towards the discovery and the practical application of ethical and spiritual principles.
