Palestinians and Israelis for Peace

A group of Palestinians and Israelis introduced themselves to Damanhurians after Thursday night's serata.

The group is currently living in the eco-village of Tamera, in Portugal, where they are visioning how to create an eco community in their homeland, one of the most controversial places in the world.

Their dream is to contribute to a better world by constructing a community with a strong vision of peace. The core group is made up of a small inner planning community, twelve people, dreaming a larger future community. Three of the visitors said they had been political activists, fighting against the invasion of Palestine, until they realized that the war was deep within them. The creation of a new society will need to spread from each person's inner core out towards being 'builders of peace'. Through their residency at Tamera, they became aware of the basic principles necessary for a peaceful society such as trust, honesty, taking personal responsibility, faith, and transparency in relationships. The group has been living in Tamera for four months and hopes to return to Palestine shortly. Their intention is to find funds to buy a piece of land and establish the new community. They plan to focus on agriculture and offering courses and not worry about the neighboring states politics.
