Fair Trade events at Damanhur Crea

Fair Trade is a worldwide movement that promotes just conditions and wages for workers of the world, particularly in developing countries. Damanhur is participating in Fair Trade Break, an activity organized by Fair Trade Italy – part of the Fair Trade Labeling Organizations (FLO), which coordinates the labeling of fair trade products internationally. The President of Fair Trade Italy, Adriano Poletti, has come to Damanhur, recognizing our history of working for a culture of peace, promoting solidarity, sustainability and ethical business. Poletti visited the activities of Damanhur Crea, a place that intends to increase its visibility as a point of reference for Fair Trade and ethical business standards.

The Tentaty Organic Cooperative and Arielvo Bar & Restaurant have special offerings for Fair Trade Break.

 

“I Shop for Justice / Io faccio la spesa giusta” 17 – 25 October 2009

Come to Tentaty where you can find certified fair trade products. During this week, we will also promote the ecological bag campaign; you may acquire a Fair Trade cotton bag for your shopping, respecting the environment, and a Fair Trade recipe book, with everyday recipes using fair trade products written by Sophie Grigson.

“I Dine for Justice / Io faccio la cena giusta” Saturday, 24 October 2009, 8 pm

At the Arielvo Bar & Restaurant, come for a dinner made with organic, fair trade and local products. During the week 17 – 25 October, when you order coffee, you shall receive a coffee bean covered in chocolate, a fair trade product, to bring attention to the coffee harvesters of the world.
